Shellie Kemp The Jackson-born violinist began serving as MSO’s Concertmaster in 2021. Shellie received her Master of Music degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University, a Bachelor of Music degree from Belhaven University, and numerous national fellowships and grants. Passionate about infusing communities with music, she is a founding member of NEW JXN, a contemporary music ensemble dedicated to bringing new music and opportunities to the community. Shellie plays a 2009 Gary Rickman violin, courtesy of the Rachel Barton Pine Foundation.

Limited, free street parking is available at Thalia Mara Hall and its surrounding streets.
Accessible parking is available on West Street.
Paid parking is available at City Centre Garage located across Pascagoula Street on the north side of Thalia Mara Hall. All four surrounding streets allow garage entrance. The parking is about $10 a vehicle.

Dr. Timothy Coker, Professor Emeritus of Music at Millsaps College, will lead a pre-concert lecture with a fascinating look at the evening’s music at 6:30pm on the Mezzanine (top floor) of Thalia Mara Hall.
