Where are MSO concerts held?

Bravo Series concerts and main-stage Pops Series concerts are held at Thalia Mara Hall in downtown Jackson, Mississippi. Chamber Series concerts are held at various venues throughout the Jackson metro area. To find a venue and directions for a particular concert, view the concert information.

How do I get to Thalia Mara Hall?

Thalia Mara Hall is located in downtown Jackson at 255 East Pascagoula Street.

Where may I park?

For concerts held at Thalia Mara Hall, parking is available at the City Centre Parking Garage located directly across the street from Thalia Mara Hall. Parking is free courtesy of Hertz Investment Group.


MSO is committed to making its programming and activities accessible and welcoming to all. The staff is always available to answer questions or to provide additional information on accessibility.  Please email Rachael at Thalia Mara Hall’s main entrance and restrooms are ramp accessible. A passenger elevator is available for access to all levels. The main seating floor includes reserved wheelchair spaces. The parking garage across the street from the hall includes reserved accessible parking spaces and ramp accessible sidewalks leading to the main entrance.  Additionally, accessible spaces are marked on the West Street side of the Hall.


How may I purchase single tickets to MSO concerts?

There are several different ways to purchase tickets to an MSO event:

  1. Purchase single tickets online beginning Sept. 13. If you would like assistance with purchasing tickets or a subscription online, please email
  2. *Purchase your tickets at our box office by calling 601.960.1565 or coming to our office at 201 E. Pascagoula Street (in the Mississippi Arts Center) Monday through Friday during business hours.
  3. *Purchase your tickets at the concert venue. You may purchase tickets on the day of the event at the concert venue one hour prior to the concert time. View individual concert dates and times.

How may I purchase a season subscription?

Season subscriptions are sold in the spring and summer prior to the start of the season. Subscription sales are a great way to save money over the cost of single tickets and subscribers may take advantage of our liberal ticket exchange policy. You may purchase subscriptions online now until Sept 13, 2021, or email

What forms of payment does MSO accept?

The Mississippi Symphony Orchestra accepts cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Online sales are by credit card only.

Does MSO offer any ticket discounts?

Absolutely! College students with valid student ID are eligible for $5 tickets to most concerts. This offer is limited to one ticket per student and subject to availability.

Young people between the ages of 4 and 18 also qualify for $5 tickets to most concerts, when accompanied by an adult. We are happy to seat families together.

Groups of 10 or more are eligible for a discount on single-ticket prices. Group purchases must be made by one person at least 3 days in advance of the concert day thru the box office.

What if I am unable to use my tickets?

If you cannot use your tickets, we encourage you to give them to a friend or colleague to enjoy. You may also want to touch base with a local social service organization to see whether they might be able to pass your tickets along to someone who would not otherwise be able to come to a concert.

Those who subscribe to one or more of our concert series (Bravo, Pops, and Chamber) have access to our liberal exchange policy and may exchange tickets for similarly priced seats at any other subscription concert within the same season. Please arrange for any exchanges at least 48 hours before the performance.

All ticket purchases are non-refundable. Artists and programs are subject to change without notice.

What do I do if I lose my tickets?

What should I wear?

Dress up, or dress down. MSO performances are opportunities to unwind. Wear whatever you like! We want you to be comfortable. We want you to enjoy yourself. But above all, we want you to join us!

When do I clap?

The history of applause at orchestra concerts is long and varied. There was a time when audiences were expected to applaud after every movement of a multi-movement work. More recently, applause has been withheld until the entire work is performed. At MSO, our policy is simple – if you want to say thanks, we are happy to hear it at any time. We suggest you follow your heart.

May I bring my children or grandchildren?

Children are welcome at all MSO concerts, though we ask you to use your discretion with regards to attention span and other matters. Please plan to sit so that you are able to leave easily, should you need to. With the possible exception of Pepsi Pops, we do not think attendance by infants is appropriate.

Most concerts last two hours, including a 15-20 minute intermission. Pre-Bravo concert lectures & lobby concessions have been suspended for the 2021 concerts, but we hope to offer both again next year!  At that time, cash bar will be available at our Thalia Mara Hall concerts. There are also occasional all-audience receptions with food. We want you to have a good time!
