Jude Morris, trombone

Jude Morris is Principal Trombonist with both the Mississippi and New Hampshire Symphonies, as well as Second Trombonist with the Tuscaloosa Symphony. Recently, he was a featured soloist with the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra performing Ferdinand David’s Trombone Concertino at St. Andrews Episcopal in Jackson, Mississippi.

Jude studied with Scott Hartman of the Empire Brass at the Yale School of Music and Dr. Per Brevig of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra at the Manhattan School of Music, where he was featured as a concerto soloist in Martin’s Concerto for 7 Winds. His brass quintet, Elm City Brass, has represented Yale internationally and sat in fellowship at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. He has accolades including international competition wins for both solo and ensemble performances at the 2025 I.W.B.C. in Hartford, Connecticut. Jude is active in all genres of music, and can be seen performing in concert halls as well as on the dance floor. Outside of music, he is also a published and awarded photographer, as well as an avid film camera collector.
