Mimi Draut Linehan*

Principal Horn

Mimi Draut Linehan is Principal Horn with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, and plays in the MSO Woodwind Quintet and in Capital Brass. She also performs with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the Mississippi Opera.

Originally from Montgomery, Alabama, Mimi first studied music with German-born organist/composer Harald Rohlig, whose musical lineage is traced directly to J. S. Bach. At the University of Southern Mississippi, she majored in Music Performance, studying horn with Dennis Behm. Other studies include masterclasses with Dale Clevenger, Froydis Ree Wekre, and Philip Farkas.

Solo appearances include the New Orleans Philharmonic, the Mississippi Symphony and the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra. Mimi teaches horn at Mississippi College.

She is married to MSO 2nd trumpet Wayne Linehan.
