Kyle Dykes is the trombone professor and director of the Carey Big Band at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS; and he is the worship pastor at Providence Baptist Church. Kyle is the second trombone for Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and has played with the Meridian Symphony Orchestra, Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra, Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra, and the Mobile Big Band Society. As a soloist, Kyle has won the concerto competition for William Carey University and Lee University. As an educator, he has been the clinician for the GCBDA Honor Jazz Band and worked as a counselor and performer with the Blue Lake International Orchestra. Every summer, he leads a combo for Lee University’s Jazz Camp.
Kyle received a Bachelor of Music Education from William Carey University and a Master of Music in Trombone Performance from Lee University, studying with Doug Warner.
