Emilio Villacis is from Equador and a recipient of the “Extraordinary Prize” from the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja where he earned an MA in Composition. He has served cultural institutions, universities, orchestras, youth orchestras and workshops throughout Ecuador, in various roles such as director, composer, pianist, and teacher. Villacis’ works have been performed with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador and won numerous awards from South America to Russia.

Emilio is the winner of the 2024 POI International Composition Competition.
