Krommer’s dynamic Concerto No. 2 for Two Clarinets flows in the hands of MSO’s finest and centers an evening that opens with Cimarosa’s Caio Maria Overture and closes with a rousing feel-good finish of Mozart’s huge, daring and unforgettable Symphony No. 40. This cozy, candlelit evening captivates with pure music at its absolute best!

Jorge Diez, clarinet
Jorge Diez MSO’s Principal Clarinetist Jorge Diez is a native of Colombia. He has performed across three continents and in six countries, and collaborated with notable orchestras under the baton of renowned conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel. With studies at El Sistema de Orquestas, a Bachelor of Music from Columbus State University, he is currently pursuing a Master of Music at the University of Alabama.
Lowell Hollinger, clarinet
Lowell Hollinger MSO’s Second Clarinetist, Lowell Hollinger, is a native of Miami, Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Music in Performance at Jackson State University, a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance from Louisiana State University, and is currently finishing a Ph.D. at the University of Southern Mississippi. Lowell is principal of the Mississippi Wind Symphony, teaches at JSU, and performs with orchestras in the region.
