Soloists shine in Italian classics
Get swept up in the rich charm of this perennially popular chamber concert highlighted by acclaimed guest viola da gambist Lisa Terry in Marais’ playful Couplets des Folies d’Espagne, MSO Principal Flutist Amulet Strange in Vivaldi’s lovely Flute Concerto, and a debut performance by MSO’s Principal Trumpet Davan Sagara.

Davan Sagara, trumpet
Davan Sagara MSO’s new Principal Trumpet Davan earned his bachelor’s degree in applied music and music education at the Eastman School of Music, studying with James Thompson. He received the President’s Scholarship and Dean’s List award from ESM and won Hawaii’s Kamuela Philharmonic, Madeline Schatz-Harris Concerto Competition at age 17.
Lisa Terry, horn
Lisa Terry Guest viola da gambist Lisa Terry performs and teaches in New York City, where she is a member of Parthenia Viol Consort. Lisa is principal cellist and viol soloist with Tempesta di Mare, Philadelphia’s baroque orchestra, and is also a member of the Dryden Ensemble in Princeton. She has appeared to great acclaim as soloist in the Passions of J.S.Bach with noted orchestras across the country.
Amulet Strange, flute
Amulet Strange MSO’s Principal Flute Amulet Strange is also a member of the MSO Woodwind Quintet and teaches at Jackson State University and Mississippi College. She is a popular soloist and chamber musician with orchestras and music festivals across the South. A Texas native and Interlochen Arts Academy graduate, she holds a Master of Music from Rice University and Bachelor of Music from San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
