Spirited concertos & brass highlights — featuring Mimi Linehan & Richard Hudson, solo horns
St. Andrew’s Cathedral and this delightful roundup of European works from the first half of the eighteenth century provide a perfect showcase for the MSO strings, woodwinds, and brass sections, respectively. MSO’s Mimi Linehan and Richard Hudson shine in a virtuosic concerto for two horns. Savor this authentic Chamber music experience through the works of Vivaldi and Corelli of Italy, Telemann from Germany, and the Czech-born Zelenka.
Mimi Linehan MSO’s Principal Horn also plays in its Woodwind Quintet, the Capital Brass, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the Mississippi Opera. Solo appearances include the New Orleans Philharmonic, the Mississippi Symphony and the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra. Mimi teaches horn at Mississippi College.
Richard Hudson MSO’s Second Horn also plays in its Brass Quintet. He has performed with the Houston Symphony, the Jackson Symphony, the New Hampshire Symphony, Rhode Island Philharmonic, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Opera Company of Boston, Boston Concert Opera, and the Cambridge Symphonic Brass Ensemble. Richard holds the dual positions of Director of Operations and Personnel Manager with the MS
