sumptuous strings + candlelight
Mozart’s dramatic Don Giovanni overture opens an evening wrapped in warmth and beauty, and his Symphony No. 39 triumphs at the close, revealing the master at the top of his game. In-between nestles Schneider’s Sinfonia Concertante for Violin and Viola, and the chance for MSO soloists Ausra Jasineviciute and Ruvim Echiusciu to really shine in a showpieces for strings.

MSO’s Principal Viola Ausra Jasineviciute is from Lithuania where she earned a BA in Viola Performance and an MA in Social Sciences. In America, she earned an MA in Viola Performance at Southeastern Louisiana University, as well as a PhD in Music Performance from Florida State University. She and her husband, MSO Violist Hristo Hristov, teach privately and with Madison public schools. An accomplished musician and active performer,, Jasineviciute is a member of the MSO String Quartet.
MSO violinist Ruvim Echiusciu is from Moldova where he began playing violin at the age of six. He completed his musical studies at the Republican Music Lyceum “Serghei Rachmaninoff” before coming to the U.S. to begin his bachelor’s studies at Belhaven University. Ruvim was a member of the Moldovan National Youth Orchestra and has performed as a soloist with the National Chamber Orchestra of the Organ Hall in Moldova. His greatest joy in music is in using his gifts to serve God.
