Tammy Luke received her early training in the Mississippi Youth Symphony Orchestra as a student of Mickey Davis and Robert McNally. After graduating from Wingfield High School, she attended Arizona State University where she was awarded a bachelor’s degree in instrumental music and went on to receive a master’s degree in viola performance with an emphasis on Suzuki violin at Northern Arizona University.

In addition to being a member of the MSO, she teaches strings in the MSO string program. She also serves as allcity co-coordinator of the Jackson Public School District’s Orchestra Program. Tammy is the conductor of the Mississippi Youth Symphony Cadet Orchestra and Holy Trinity Fine Arts Orchestra as well as director of the Kid Fiddlers of Jackson.

She is a certified Suzuki violin instructor with the Greater Jackson Suzuki Program and has served as a clinician in several Suzuki institutes including the 2006 Greater New Orleans Suzuki Summer Institute. She is a teacher in the Mississippi Symphony Premier String Orchestra Camp and has taught Jackson Prep summer strings programs. In 2006, she married John Luke of Noxapater, MS.
