Musicians Play On!

Please help the orchestra in restoring full pre-pandemic musician pay scales!

#MSOMusiciansPlayOn

The spread of covid-19 required us all to take an intermission. Pandemic protocols left many of MSO’s talented musicians without music to make. As the orchestra plans for the next concert season, we launch our #MSOMusiciansPlayOn campaign to help restore musician salaries to full, pre-pandemic pay-scales. We have already received extremely generous gifts towards our current goal of $40,000 from the Shornick Family Charitable Fund of the Community Foundation for Mississippi, along with corporate leadership from EastGroup Properties.

With great anticipation, we look forward to a return of full orchestra concerts for the 2021-2022 concert season. Making a donation to this campaign invests in our shared future – one we know must include music,” says MSO Board Member, Delores Bolden Stamps.

MSO attracts talented musicians who contribute greatly to our state’s creative economy. Our musicians increase the quality of life in Mississippi through their work with MSO and beyond. I cannot imagine our community without the vibrancy that our musicians provide to us. From concerts to religious services, they represent the soul of this place, says Jack Allin, MSO Board Chair-Elect, Your donation to our MSO Musicians Play On campaign will go directly to restoring musicians’ salaries and will be a symbol of our community’s love of orchestral music.”
