FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Presenting Classical’s Greatest Hits with Pachelbel, Barber, Albinoni in “Spring Vibrations”
The line-up also includes Bartok, Tchaikovsky, Strauss and Holst
Jackson, Mississippi, April 20, 2021—On Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 7:30pm, the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra closes its 20/21 Chamber series with Chamber III – “Spring Vibrations”, highlighting Classical music’s greatest composers, which will again be held socially distanced at Thalia Mara Hall.
The concert will open with Bela Bartok’s “Bartok Rumanian Folk Dances”, followed by Tommaso Albinoni’s heart wrenching “Adagio in g minor”. Johann Pachelbel’s “Canon”, meaningful to so many, precedes Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “Andante Cantabile from String Quartet No. 1”. Then, enjoy Eduard Strauss and Johann Strauss, Jr.’s “Pizzicato Polka”. Next up is Samuel Barber’s hauntingly beautiful “Adagio for Strings”, before closing the program with Gustav Holst’s “St. Paul Suite”.
Tickets ($20) are available in advance only and must be purchased online at www.msotickets.com. Limited seating is socially distanced at Thalia Mara Hall, with mask required for entry. The concert will be without intermission, and tickets will not be available at the door. NO concessions, ticket sales or Will Call. Arrival instructions and protocols will be sent with e-tickets.
