Guest violinist Randall Goosby debuts with Bruch, plus Liszt, Shostakovich, Verdi

Jackson, Mississippi, January 24, 2022—On Saturday, January 29th, 2022, at 7:30pm, The Mississippi Symphony Orchestra continues its 77th Selby and Richard McRae Foundation Bravo series with Bravo III “Symphonic  Spectacular”, representing the first time since pandemic’s start that the orchestra returns to full force with trombones, trumpets, and strings.  Performance is sponsored by the Margaret Sewell Fund for Artistic Excellence.

The master-packed program will include familiar pieces beginning with Verdi’s La Traviata, and Liszt’s Les PreludesSphinx Competition winner and in-demand Decca Classics recording artist and guest violinist Randall Goosby makes his MSO debut with Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1.  To cap off the night, enjoy Shostakovich’s vivid Ninth Symphony.
