Acclaimed pianist delivers in masterworks by Mozart, Ravel, and Mendelssohn

Jackson, Mississippi, November 8, 2021—On Saturday, November 13th, 2021, at 7:30pm, The Mississippi Symphony Orchestra continues its 77th Selby and Richard McRae Foundation Bravo series with stormy seas and brilliant keys in Bravo IIInspired Journeys”, featuring fan favorite and guest pianist, Alon Goldstein.  Concert is additionally sponsored by Meyer and Genevieve Falk Endowment Fund for Culture of the Community Foundation for Mississippi.

The performance opens with Mendelssohn’s belovedHebrides Overture”, Op. 26, (Fingal’s Cave).  Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25, in Goldstein’s hands, will be the spotlight draw of the evening, which Goldstein says is like “mini operas”Next in the lineup is Ravel’s “Pavane pour une infante defunte” (Pavane for a Dead Princess), followed by Mendelssohn’s famous Symphony No. 4, in A Major, “Italian”.
