FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MSO Begins Its Most Diverse Season Yet with Bravo I “Exquisite Opener”
Acclaimed violinist Rachel Barton Pine champions the works of Black composers
Jackson, Mississippi, September 30, 2021—On Saturday, October 9th, 2021, at 7:30pm, The
Mississippi Symphony Orchestra begins its 77th Selby and Richard McRae Foundation Bravo series with
charm and cheer in “Exquisite Opener”.
Celebrate a return to full orchestra with African-French composer Joseph Bologne’s Second Violin
Concerto, in the hands of guest violinist Rachel Barton Pine, a longtime champion of his works.
Bask in up-and-coming female composer Jessie Montgomery’s Starburst, and delight in Rossini’s
beloved The Barber of Seville. The performance will end on a happy note with Beethoven’s engaging
Fourth Symphony.
Tickets start at $29 (students/children $5) and can be purchased online at
www.msorchestra.com. Box office will open at 6:30pm on the evening of the concert at Thalia Mara
Hall. Masks required for entry and must be worn throughout the concert. No concessions or pre-concert lecture. For more info on the 2021-22 Season of Fusion, visit our website, find us on Facebook @JacksonMSOrchestra, or subscribe to our blog, MSOTempo!
