Take a deep dive into pure genius with life-spanning selections from one of music’s greatest — Beethoven. Ride the emotional sweep and triumph in his masterwork Leonore Overture No. 3. Delight in the youthful exuberance of Piano Concerto No. 2, showcased by award-winning, guest pianist Christopher Atzinger. Feast on the inspired maturity of the master’s lighthearted 8th symphony.

Pre-concert lecture with a fascinating look at the evening’s music led by Dr. Timothy Coker, Professor Emeritus of Music at Millsaps College, at 6:30PM on the Mezzanine.
Christopher Atzinger PIANO
Hailed for his fervency, panache and insightful performance, this Michigan native’s performance highlights include Carnegie Hall, American Cathedral in Paris, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Banff International Keyboard Festival and many more. An international piano competition medalist and winner, Atzinger was recently awarded a $25,000 McKnight Scholarship for Performing Artists and has three highly praised albums to his credit.
